Discovering the Chesapeake Bay ...

Only a 2 hours drive and we arrive at Chesapeake Beach (East of Wash DC). The beachstroke is fantastic and the wooden beachhouses are very picturesque. We continue our discovery tour a few miles to the North and we approach an identical little village on the side of the Chesapeake Bay, North Beach. Finally, we arrive in Annapolis, the State capital of Maryland, home of the Naval Academy. We visited both the State House and, of course, the US Naval Academy. Since 1845 more than 60,000 young men and women have successfully completed "four years by the Bay" to take their hard-earned places in America's Naval service. Many Naval Academy graduates have achieved greatness and earned a special place in our nation's history during its struggle to grow and preserve its freedom. Their names resonate down through history - Dewey, Halsey, King, Lejeune, Nimitz, Rickover, Spruance, Burke, Stockdale, Carter . . . to name only a few. Check the pics right HERE.
Tomorrow, it's Labor Day !!! Hurray !!!!
