Being already more than 28 months in the Wash DC area, it is hard to find places that we did not visit so far. I think this blog shows and confirms this statement. However, occasionally, we run into a spot that we overlooked before. The site of Theodore Roosevelt Island, located in the Potomac river and part of the District of Columbia, is such a place. It is maintained as a natural park and features a statue of Th. Roosevelt (the 26th US President) in a memorial plaza. It is a very nice walk and an interesting spot to observe the fauna & flora.
