Today, we accomplished another stunning expedition in DC, namely Capitol Hill. Pierre L'Enfant chose in 1791 the hill as the location for the Capitol building and the center of the new city. As this area is frequented by the most powerful people in the United States, we - out of necessity of course - had to exhibit ourselves ... Grant (and ... hmhm ... Jolly Jumper) saw that it was OK ! Other interesting hotspots in the neighbourhood : the US Supreme court, The Library of Congress, the Folger Shakespeare Library and the beautiful Botanic Garden (established in 1820). New pics HERE.
