It was cloudy, clammy, cold, grey, fatiguing ... BUT ... grandiose, magnificent, outrageous, awesome, dazzling and also beautiful !!! Our 'base of operations' was the Naval Lodge on Staten Island from where we took the Ferry to downtown Manhattan, New York.
The Big Apple, the city that never sleeps, a staggering world packed into about 320 square miles.
Manhattan is the smallest area of New York's 5 boroughs with approx. 1.5 million residents. We got a "stiff neck" from looking up to the skycrapers and large blisters on our feet from slandering arround, but it was well worth the effort. You'll find a whole serie of pictures right HERE.
